Tis' the Season to take a look at one of our favorite winter weddings of all times! Dan and Megan were married at Laurel Creek last year on New Year's Eve- what a special way to bring in the new year! These two had a beautiful ceremony at the fireplace, with a fun cocktail reception to follow!

Thanks to a little snow earlier in the week, these two were able to have gorgeous photos by the fountain- it was truly a winter wonderland for their wedding. Each year we have a great big open house party at Laurel Creek Manor with food, music, champagne, giveaways, venue tours, and a selection of our favorite vendors in the area! The bridal bash is not your average open house... It is FREE to come, and full of fun!

We enjoyed the planning process with these two- a groom that was involved quite a bit and a big loving family that made sure everything was fabulous for their special day! Today I came across some new reviews on various wedding websites and decided it was time to start sharing some with you!

We get Kudos from brides, family, and friends who have experienced beautiful weddings here at Laurel Creek Manor and I want to give a big THANK YOU to all of you!

The first one I would like to share is from the parents of the Bride. The parents were all fantastic, and so was the couple- Cassie and Jerred!

"Our daughter was married there in august of 2010. She wanted an outdoor summer wedding. Laurel Creek is a fabulous venue to hold either an indoor or outdoor wedding. The grounds are absolutely amazing and full of blooming flowers and perfectly cut lawns which made for stunning wedding photos. From the first day we met the Cabodi family, we were impressed with their hospitality. Everything is clearly stated as far as rules, prices, extra items available to rent and the time you must be out by.

Even today, friends and family still talk about the wedding and how gorgeous it was. Never was anyone treated disrespectful. Laurel, Al and Kirsten take pride in this venue and they are some of the most wonderful people. We could have gone with a different venue, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and it was worth every dollar! Janae and Matt were married at Laurel Creek Manor on August 8th of last year! These two were so sweet, fun, and it really showed during their wedding!

This lovely couple had a beautiful Black and White color theme, and added a pop of lime green to make it unique and absolutely stunning! We loved this wedding- the couple was amazing, their families were a joy, and we still talk about how great this wedding was!

This is one of my all time favorite Candy Bar's! The colors were fabulous, and the guests loved having some options for dessert!

We really enjoyed having these two as on of our couple's, and id like to share one of the sweet notes we received from Janae after the wedding!

The 2011 BRIDAL BASH at Laurel Creek Manor was fantastic!

This year we held the third annual Bridal Bash! We had a fantastic time, met some amazing couples, and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of music, fantastic food, and great company!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Bash and to the wonderful vendors who were featured at the Bridal Bash! A Big Thank You goes to Moch from Jon + Moch Photography for capturing the event for us!

We had a beautiful, sunny, and almost warm January day for the event!

It is always fun to see Laurel Creek Manor Brides enjoying the Bridal Bash! We do the Bridal Bash only ONCE a year... so mark your calendars for next January!

Each year we treat our guests to food, music, and a great selection of vendors! As a thank you for coming to the Bash, we sneak some fabulous gifts into some goodie bags for the Brides!

We had a fabulous selection of vendors this year for our guests to meet, and Michelle with Michelle Lenae Jewelry was one of the favorites! Michelle is a fantastic Jewelry designer who will create unbelievable custom pieces you can drench yourself in!

When it comes to food for your wedding, Act 3 Catering will put out a menu to impress! They did a fantastic spread of appetizers, pastas, champagne and more for the Bridal Bash!

One of our favorite special touches you can do at a wedding is a horse and carriage! You can arrive to your fairytale ceremony in a beautiful white carriage with Country Wagon! Thank you for coming to the bash this year Country Wagon!

Celebrity Cake Studio is the best of the best when it comes to your dream wedding cake! This year they brought lots of samples to treat our taste buds at the bash! Thanks Celebrity Cake Studio!

New to the Bridal Bash this year- and a long time favorite on our list was the wonderful Rebecca of Rebecca Brotman Photography! Her beautiful display of fabulous canvas prints and sparkly flyer's dazzled all of our guests! You can see more of her fab photography at her website www.rebeccabrotmanphotography.com !

This year's bash not only showcased vendors downstairs, it had two fantastic vendors on the second floor as well! Something Blue Boutique brought lovely dresses to show, and Peppers Salon had stylists showing off whimsical up do's for your wedding day!

One of our favorite ladies, Mrs. Christy Pelland showcased her new fabulous pinup artistry- Sweet Betty Jean! She provides a highly styled experience unlike any other, and uses her talent to digitally paint the images for a classic vintage pinup!

The party went all afternoon with the help of our favorite DJ's Jered and Ollie from Generation X Productions!

Looking for a unique touch to your reception? Have Black Tie Espresso Catering at your wedding with signature espresso shots, lattes, and Italian Sodas!

Lynette from McKenna Video Services enjoyed an espresso while we enjoyed her fabulous video of a wedding from Laurel Creek Manor! Check it out on our website www.laurelcreekmanor.com!

Thank you to April from VanLierop's Garden Market for providing such beautiful flowers for the Bash!

The Bridal Bash was also the unveiling of our brand new second patio space! Thanks to AA Party Rentals, we were able to put up a fabulous 30'x70' Tent over the new patio. This space will seat 200 people at tables for dining, and leaves the other patio open for dancing!

The weather was so beautiful that everyone got to enjoy the outdoor space just as much as indoors! Here is one of our engaged couples showing off the place to family! Mollie and Peter actually got engaged right here at Laurel Creek Manor in our Bridal Suite! Check back on the Blog soon for their cute engagement story!

Last but not least- we finished off the afternoon with the bouquet toss! This year's toss included some great surprise gifts from Laurel Creek Manor, C.Pelland Photography, and more!

This Year's Daffodil Princess Tea was one of our best events yet!

Each year springtime is full of events brought to you by the Daffodil Festival and Supporters- and Laurel Creek Manor is the host to the annual Daffodil Princess Tea!

Here are some photos from this year's Daffodil Princess Tea, brought to you by the lovely photographer Rebecca Brotman! Rebecca brought her two lovely little girls to the tea and was kind enough to capture the afternoon for us!

All of the Princesses come for an afternoon of princess fun- mothers, grandmothers, and even a few dad's bring their little girls to enjoy a day in the life of a princess!

When they arrive, they are greeted at the door by beautiful "real" princesses dressed in magical yellow gowns and tiaras. Each little girl is crowned with their own real tiara and given an autograph book! The crowns came in the prettiest little boxes... perfect to use as a little purse for the event!

They spend the afternoon meeting and mingling with the daffodil royal court, they have a real tea party full of food and yummy drinks, and enjoy a show from the Princesses!

The Princess Tea was one of the cutest things we have ever seen. The little girls were truly "princesses for a day," all dressed up in their favorite spring dresses and on their best princess behavior! They got autographs and made friends!

And of course a Princess Tea is not complete without a little food a beverage! Thanks to the wonderful Act 3 Catering, the event had lots of goodies for everyone to enjoy!

All of the daffodil princesses that make up the Royal Court come from the high schools in and around the South Sound. These girls are wonderful role models and have been chosen for their outstanding participation in school and community activities! They enjoyed the tea just as much as all the little princesses, and had a great song and dance to share with us all!

I was lucky enough to spend a little time with my special guests... Miss Peyton and Miss Drue!

We can all thank my wonderful mom (and the owner of Laurel Creek Manor) Laurel Cabodi for providing such a wonderful location for the Princess Tea! She spent lots of time making sure everything was "Princess Tea ready"... planting Daffodils, decorating the manor, and even creating these beautiful yellow daffodil bistro tables for autograph signing!

Of course we had to get a picture with the Royal Court- here I am with my mom and grandma!

We had such a wonderful day for the tea- It was Sunny and warm outside... perfect for an afternoon of daffodil fun! Not only is Laurel Creek Manor bursting with daffodils this time of year, but the 5 acre field across the street is solid with them!

A great way to end the Princess Tea- a visit to the Laurel Creek Manor chickens! These little princesses had a wonderful time meeting the chickens, and even got to take home some colorful eggs!

Everyone had such a wonderful time at the tea, and it was so nice to have Rebecca Brotman and her two little girls, Peyton and Drue as my special guests! :: Bridal Bash 2010 :: A Great Event!

What can I say... When you get the right group of wedding professionals together with an awesome group of Brides with their friends and families... you get a FANTASTIC EVENT!

This year Laurel Creek Manor's Bridal Bash was above any other... we had a selection of the finest vendors in the area and a huge turnout!

Thanks to our wonderful friend and fabulous photographer Christy Pelland... we have these great photos to share with you! Thanks Christy!

Our famous magenta bistro tables were at their best in the great room with fabulous bouquest by April at VanLierop's Garden Market!

The house was crawling with people! Our Great Room was full of new couples, as well as a handful of our Laurel Creek couples! One of our brides, Samie, won a beautiful bouquet in our drawing! woohoo!

This gorgeous display was done by Celebrity Cake Studio, they had tasty cake samples and a great drawing for a discount on your wedding cake! Make sure to check them out! Did I mention they recently won Best Bakery in the King 5 News/Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington Competition!?

This was a special year for Laurel Creek, we were featured in the Seattle Wedding Show, and won 2nd place for Best Venue in the King 5 News/Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington competition! (cough cough...1st place for venues south of Arlington!) So- I decided we deserved a special new flyer to show for it! Here is a clip of our new flyer.. she's a beauty :)

This awesome canvas print was a gift to us from Christy Pelland, she took this photo at one of our favorite weddings last year! It is by far one of our favorite photos.. showing off the huge old growth trees out at the wedding arbor!

Now here is a photo of the INCREDIBLE spread of food that Act 3 Catering did for our Bash! They not only had samples of appetizers, but they had a roast, salmon, stuffed chicken, homemade pasta, stuffed mushrooms... yumm (are you drooling yet?) Thank you SO much Act 3, it was awesome!

Now here are two of my Favorite DJ's! Jered and Ollie of Generation X Productions were kind enough to come and get some good tunes going at the Bash! They did giveaways and kept the party going! Thanks GenX!

The gift bags this year had some wonderful surprises tucked inside... I hope you got one! One of the goodies inside was from a great metalsmith/jewelry designer I have had to pleasure of meeting recently, Ada Rosman!

Some of the great vendors who made Laurel Creek's Bridal Bash a hit: Country Wagon, who even in the rain, brought a beautiful horse and carriage for our guests to enjoy! Thank you so much! Bouquet Toss Time!

We had a beautiful bouquet from VanLierops Garden Market to toss this year... all the brides gathered in the tent to catch it!

hehe... I'm going to throw it! It has goodies inside! ...

Now it looks like it got some air... but I am not the best tosser around- it didn't quite make it to the middle of the group!

No matter where it landed... we still had a good fight to the finish from our brides! Thank for making the toss fun ladies!

Hello Everyone!

Well we have had a busy start to the new year, with two great wedding shows and an even better Bridal Bash at Laurel Creek! Id love to share with you some photos from the Seattle Wedding Show!

We had a great booth this year at the show, with beautiful linens on the bistro tables from AA Party Rentals, and April from VanLierop's Garden Market was kind enough to decorate our tables and wedding arbor with fantastic arrangements!

This was our first year in the Seattle Wedding Show... and it was awesome! Our booth was in a wonderful location with some of our favorite wedding professionals close by! We enjoyed great music in our aisle courtesy of LeuJam Entertainment, and had a fun time seeing portraits done at the Red Fish Blue Fish Photography booth! We even got a chance to take photos over there ourselves! I have worked with both of these vendors on weddings at Laurel Creek Manor, so it was a pleasure to see them again and I think any couple would be lucky to have them at their wedding! Check them out!

Some other fun friends I had the pleasure of seeing- Dixie with Seattle Metropolitan Bride and Groom Magazine... I have worked with her so much over the phone it was so nice to finally meet her! Also-the lovely owners of Act 3 Catering... who just happened to be the catering company featured at this year's Bridal Bash! It is always a pleasure to chat with Michelle at Seattle Bride Magazine- and the new issue is fantastic, make sure to grab one!

Thank you to all of our Laurel Creek brides who stopped by the booth to say hello, and thank you to all of the new brides who took a moment to visit our booth! it was a pleasure meeting you!

My favorite part about the Seattle Wedding Show was the quality of the entire show- this is a fantastic event in a beautiful location, with only the best of the best in the wedding industry! We are honored to be a part of it! A big thanks to Howard at the Seattle Wedding Show for allowing us to be a part of this top notch event- we can't wait for next year!

We were nominated as one of the Best Venue's in Western Washington, the contest lasted one month and within that time we recieved an unbelievable amount of support from our clients and industry supporters! Out of over 70 wedding venues listed, we came in second place! The month was very exciting, as we recieved 180 wonderful reviews, and bounced between first and second place the entire competition!

Dee and Zac were married at Laurel Creek Manor on September 5th, 2009. What a beautiful ceremony it was! They had a wonderful day with wonderful friends and family- and had lots of special touches that made the day even that more fabulous! Now- I did post a few photos from the wedding in the blog a few posts back... but that was just a teaser! I now have a handful of really great photos to show you courtesy of Chris McKenna Photography! Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite photo opportunities at Laurel Creek. Many people make sure to get the balcony shot from down below... but most don't realize how beautiful the balcony is from the brides room! Looks especially great in black and white!

The front porch is also one of the most fabulous photo spots at Laurel Creek! The great thing about this spot is that it doesnt matter what time of year your wedding is... you can have beautiful outdoor photos under the covered porch! Dee and all of her girls look so pretty here with the beautiful blues and grays she used in her color scheme!

Earlier I mentioned that these two had some very special touches at their wedding... and here is one of them! Handmade by the brides father... these shepherds hooks were so beautiful and unique!

Here is one of our great August weddings- this is Jessica and Matt, married here at Laurel Creek on 8/7/09! This was a beautiful wedding with lots of fun little details- a "save the date" magnet with a photo of the couple, a custom made guest book, and beautiful hanging arrangements for the wedding arbor! Congratulations Jessica and Matt!

Not only does the bridal party get two great rooms for dressing, but they get private bathrooms and this beautiful little extra room perfect for an intimate photo by the windows!

The balcony in our Bridal Suite is one of the most incredible photo opportunities around! Take a photo like this one from below to capture the balcony and chandelier, or take one upstairs in the bridal suite for a different and completely fabulous look!

The front porch looks beautiful in any light, and especially magical at night! See above for a close up shot of Jessica's boquet resting on the stone pillar, and below for the couple in a relaxing shot on the stairs!

Last night we had the pleasure of attending the Seattle Bride Magazine "Best of 2009" Awards! This is one of our favorite events of the year! The awards was held this year at Sodo Park by Herban Feast... a really cool old warehouse with modern fixtures.. totally urban and posh.. the perfect place for a Seattle Bride party!

The event is always fun... we get to see all of our fellow wedding professionals, mingle, sip the signature martini, flip through the new issue of the magazine, and congratulate the winners of the year!

This year's party was especially fun for us because we got a chance to chat with Michelle, the Advertising Direct of the magazine! We all agreed that it was fun to actually chat in person for once... since most of our contact is through email and phone calls!

Also spotted at the party were a few of our favorite vendors... including Christy and Blair from Junebug Weddings! of course... what fun as a party if you dont take any pictures to remember it by.. so christy and I made sure to get a shot together!

:: Grand Floral Parade :: Laurel Creek Manor Debut!

Well for those of you who waved and screamed "woohooo! Laurel Creek Manor!!" at the daffodil parade... THANKS! The parade was so much fun, and our little "something blue" mercedes did pretty good considering she had a few parts still not working in top notch condition!

The Grand Floral Parade this year was shown LIVE this year on the tacoma tv network. If you missed the parade... you can still catch it on TV this week! in Tacoma it shows on channel 12, and puyallup, sumner, etc I believe it shows on channel 28. Air times change so check your digital cable menu to find the next one!

The parade patrons were lucky enough to enjoy the first warm weather of the season! I experienced this first hand... and believe it or not I got a SUNBURN! Check out the photos to see just how festive we were!

The beautiful floral arrangement was made special for us by the lovely April VanLierop of VanLierop's Garden Market! Thanks April!

This is the three of us (Al driving, Laurel in the passenger seat, and me as a bride on the back!) rolling down the streets of Puyallup, waving at all of the parade watchers! We were lucky enough to spot my dear friend and fabulous photographer Christy Pelland on the street... armed with her camera! Thanks Christy for taking these great photos of us! see more of her work at www.christypelland.com!

The sign on the back was made special just for the parade by yours truly :o) taking the daffodil theme a step beyond, I used these giant daffodil photos to dress up our website and the back of the car!

Finally, we have a great photo of us in Orting! This was the last stop for the parade but it sure didnt lack on energy! Thanks Linda (our LCM housekeeper) for taking this beautiful photo!

We had a wonderful time in the parade and look forward to doing it next year!

:: Daffodil Parade :: LCM's Something Blue

::Wedding Layout Ideas:: Introduction:: Ceremony

One of the most common questions asked by our current brides is "how should i set up for my ceremony, dining, dancing, etc.?? What works best here at Laurel Creek?

We are ALWAYS happy to help you figure out your set up- so this week of blogging is dedicated to showing you specific examples to help you plan your event layout!

Each day I will show you set up ideas for different parts of your event... starting today with your Ceremony! Enjoy!

**CEREMONY**

There are multiple locations around laurel creek to do your ceremony (great room, patio, back porch, wedding arbor), although the wedding arbor is the most stunning. We will start though, inside the house for those of you with a group of 115 people or less, cooler weather, or a back up plan for a not so great day.

The great room will hold 100 people in rows of 5, with a great aisle down the middle. You can push it up to 115 people if you do two rows sideways near the fireplace

This bride ran two strands of silk flower garlands up each side of the aisle to add a little jazz to the ceremony. You can either do a ceremony in front of the fireplace or at the other end of the room in front of the french doors. One Tip: if you are doing a ceremony in the great room it is much easier if you have a small bridal party of 3 or 4 on each side!

Now for a ceremony outside! The best place for a ceremony outside is at our wedding arbor. There is room for up to 350 chairs out there... and they all have a wonderful view! when planning a ceremony at the arbor there are a few things to think about: what to decorate the arbor with? it is pretty alone, but also very sturdy. many people hang lanterns from ribbon, garlands, or floral hanging baskets from the three hooks on the arbor.

Another decision to make: how do you want your chairs? they can be in straight across rows, rows that are angled to face the arbor more, or curved rows. Here are some wedding arbor examples!

We only make about 8 or 9 rows of chairs in order to keep each guest close enough to the arbor to see and hear everything! It works really well, everyone has a 'good seat!'

The rows above are straight. Straight rows work well if you have a smaller number of guests- anything below 100. Below you see some curved rows, which works great with large groups, so every chair is angled towards the arbor!

The picture above shows one good idea, and one bad idea. The good idea is to decorate your aisles with something- this bride used pretty white buckets full of flowers to mark each row. We commonly see this or aisle stands /hooks holding vases or lanterns. The bad idea in the photo above? Rose Petals. although they may look pretty in this photo- in reality they were smashed and discolored by the time the ceremony came. we do not allow Fake rose petals here at laurel creek- but we do allow Real rose petals. my suggestion: if you really really want rose petals have your flower girl throw only a few while she walks, loading up the aisle with petals before hand turns mushy and and messy looking. One Rule: if you have Real rose petals... you must pick them up after the ceremony!

Lanterns or vases hung by pretty ribbon from the arbor is stunning and practical. when you are done at the ceremony, have someone snip them off and use them as table center pieces! two in one!

:: Great Wedding Websites :: Make Planning Easy!

I recently had a girlfriend ask me about any wedding websites I knew of that would be helpful in planning her wedding. It got me thinking-- These days the easiest way to find great (and reliable) vendors is to search online. Although there are tons, and i mean TONS of wedding websites out there.. there are a few things you should know before you start your search for the perfect site!!

1. Not all vendors listed on wedding website directories are good... so here are a few ways to tell which ones are worth looking into:
* Good photos are a must, whether its a venue, caterer, photographer, even a DJ!
* A link to a website-- and a website that is impressive
* Good reviews by former clients.. although don't be fooled by one or two negative comments (there is always one unsatisfied client for every 100 happy ones, and usually negative comments are very much exaggerated!)

2. Most big website directories such as weddingbook.com or theknot.com will give anyone a listing if they pay the right price. So- this is a great place to start- as you will find almost all the vendors in your area. from there... check out some smaller more exclusive websites for vendors with great service and a great reputation. For example: check out www.junebugweddings.com - they only list a few vendors in each category, and they are extremely selective of the vendors they feature (they contact the vendor about being featured on the site, not the other way around!) specific requirements such as multiple years in business, other junebug wedding vendor referrals, and previous client referrals are just a few!

3. My biggest indicators of a great wedding vendor are these: A good website (realistic photos, lots of info, clear contact information) and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, a personal connection (no matter whether its a photographer or wedding venue- the service is what really matters. MEET with the vendor, see how personable they are, are they as excited about your wedding as you are? great wedding vendors are passionate about what they do.. not about they moolah they are making.)

:: Daffodil Princess Tea :: Sneak Preview

Last weekend we helped sponsor the first annual Daffodil Festival Princess Tea here at Laurel Creek Manor! The event was a success, with over 150 guests, all of this year's daffodil princesses and a ton of fun!

This was a great time for mom's, grandma's, and little girls to meet and mingle with the 2009 Daffodil Festival Royal Court. The real magic was experienced by all the little girls that attended. They got to be a princess for the day with a real tiara and memory book for autographs by all the princesses! The event was located here at Laurel Creek Manor, and the tea was catered by one of our favorite caterers- Ocassions Catering! To top off the day, all of the memories experienced were captured by photorapher Steve James with Images and Events! Here are a few images from the event!!

On March 13th the Queen will be chosen-- You do not want to miss this event (see below for details)!

A few weeks ago we worked our Laurel Creek magic at the Tacoma Wedding Expo. I had a big flatscreen with a slideshow of our favorite photos from a handful of photographers. The week before the show I had the chance to grab a few gorgeous photos from a photographer was saw this last summer... Kristi Lloyd photography! She was gracious enough to send over a few photos for my slideshow at a last minute request. Little did we know, our booths were Right Next To Eachother at the Tacoma Wedding Expo! This turned out to be really great when I could point people her way as they admired her fabulous work at laurel creek!

Well im back with some more wedding photos for you all to see!

Now- Mandy and Andy's wedding was a very special one to us here at Laurel Creek. Linda, our very own housekeeper that keeps Laurel Creek shiny and clean year round announced to us that her daughter Mandy was getting married! We had such a good time having their families here... it was the first (and probably only) wedding here at Laurel Creek we were not just working, we were guests! Here are some great shots from the event courtesy of one of our favorite photographers, Mr. Scott Turner!

I think this was by far the best cake cutting I have seen so far at Laurel Creek! These two started off very sweet to eachother... then Andy took a 'joking' pass at smashing some cake on Mandy. His first few attempts were somewhat joking, and then they both just went for it! Fun times!

::Bridal Bash :: Big Success!

After much planning and excitement- Laurel Creek Manor threw its first annual "Bridal Bash" for all newly engaged couples still looking for a wedding location! The bash was a total hit with all of our wonderful guests and vendors! We have thrown "bridal tea's" in the past, but this year I wanted something a little more fun & relaxed, much like a wedding reception!

We featured some of our favorite vendors, had great specials and giveaways, food, music, champagne, flowers, carriage rides, latte's, a photographer, and even a boquet toss! Check out the photos from this year's bash!!

Thank you to all of our featured vendors for making this bash totally fabulous! As you can see, the great room was packed with couples and their loved ones checkin out Laurel Creek and having a great time!

One of our favorite DJ's, Generation X Productions brough the entertainment to the bash. They kept the mood fun with some great tunes, announced the giveaways, gave away an iPod, and set the tone for the boquet toss you will see later on in the blog! Thanks Jered and Ollie!

Everywhere you looked you saw a latte in hand... This was the perfect treat to take with you on a ride in the horse drawn carriage! Thank you to Black Tie Espresso Catering for providing a tasty (and warm) drink to the Bash! Its always a pleasure to have Country Wagon at Laurel Creek Manor. This company is wonderful, how fun would it be to arrive by horse drawn carriage for your ceremony!

The event was so great, and even better was the fabulous buffet set up by Act 3 Catering! These treats were perfect for a sunday afternoon open house- thanks Act 3!

Of course there had to be fresh flowers, and who better to provide some beautiful buds than April with Van Lierop's Garden Market. These shiny bright arrangements helped our hot pink bistro's pop in the great room! Coming up in the blog- some beautiful boquets that April provided- perfect for our boquet toss! Thanks VanLierop's!

The Boquet toss was the most exciting toss I think we have ever seen here at Laurel Creek. It probably helped that there were some really great coupons tucked inside! Now these girs were serious about catching the boquets... I told them i wanted to see some fighting and thats exactly what i got!

Not only were there giveaways, but Laurel Creek provided a fun gift bags featuring our new logo for all of the brides who came to the party! woohoo!

Thanks to Christy Pelland and her lovely assistant Jenna, we have these great photos to share with you! We just cant get enough of Christy here at Laurel Creek- her work is beautiful and she is amazing to work with!

We are always working on projects to make Laurel Creek Manor more and more fabulous each year... and this project is no exception! Nothing could be more beautiful than a photo of the bride and groom next to a sparkling fountain on a warm summer's day! That's exactly why Laurel Creek will now have an incredible massarelli fountain welcoming guests as they drive through the front gate for your wedding! Massarelli is the maker of the finest stone garden accents... check out their website at www.massarelli.com... can you find which fountain is ours?

The fountain is going in now-- and will be ready for all of our 2009 weddings!

Here is it at the very beginning... keep checking back for more posts on the progress of our fountain! Even sitting in pieces on the driveway the fountain still looks as massive and fabulous as ever... I cant wait to see the finished product!

Even in 30 something degree weather... Al spent most of the day digging holes and dumping cement to create a platform for the 1,300lb beauty to sit on!

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the Bellevue Wedding Expo last weekend! We had a blast-- our booth looked great-- and we are even MORE excited for the Bridal Bash coming up! Here are just a few highlights from the weekend's fun...

Welcome to the booth! Al, Laurel and Kirsten(im in the middle :o)- representing Laurel Creek Manor!

We flashed some of our favorite Laurel Creek photos on our big flatscreen.. a perfect way to show off the manor and give a little taste of the beauty you see in person!

I bet your wondering where these beautiful flowers came from.... Well so did everyone at the show! Thanks to the fabulous April VanLierop our booth was brought to life with vibrant, beautiful flowers! Check out more of April's work at www.vanlierops.com !

We met so many wonderful couples at the show and these two were no exception! After a long visit with the two... a few more passes by the booth... and tons of laughing we just had to get a photo with them! After about 6 hours of being on my feet... in my pumps... I finally had to take a load off. Take a look at this chair... it is beautiful, comfy, and will find its home in the Bridal Suite here at Laurel Creek!

One of the highlights of the Wedding Expo is the Fashion Show.... all the brides, friends, grooms, and even some vendors gather around the stage to check out the newest trends in bridal fashion!

What did we do during the fashion show?!

Well.. my dear friend and photographer Christy Pelland came to help out laurel creek for a while. Now- the two of us have seen plenty of fashion shows so we took this opportunity to test out one of the other trends in modern weddings.... a Photo Booth!!

Photobooth Services is a great company that was in a neighboring booth. This is such a great new way to make a guestbook and let your guests take home a piece of the party! We have had Photobooth Services at Laurel Creek Manor in the past-- and we hope to see it again this year!

I thought it was about time to do something different here on our Blog! For those of you who are regulars to the site... here is a fun little break from all the wedding excitement...

Yes- Laurel Creek Manor has added a member to the "family," she's full of fun, great at giving cheerful tours, and keeps a good eye on the grounds (in case there is a burglar, of course)....

It's BAILEY!!

She is my new golden retriever puppy. :0) As cute as a puppy can be, she is 4 months old now and loving life. Her favorite stop on the way to work is the coffee window where she gets lots of treats.

Working at Laurel Creek has its perks for a puppy- she gets to romp in the field and chase birds, snooze in the office while I do all the work, make sure each guests is properly greeted with a bark and a lick, and tags along for a tour with the occassional dog lover.

Bailey spends most of her time at home chasing the cat, digging up my yard, and playing with her huge pile of toys, but she makes frequent visits to laurel creek manor, so stop by and say hello!

What a delight to see the amount of support coming from all of our clients, their family, and all of our friends!

Just yesterday I posted a blog to let you all know that we were nominated to be in Evening Magazines "northwests best" contest. The contest ended yesterday and I thought to myself "well, its awesome that we were nominated but I wish I had more time to let people know they can vote for us!" (I found out we were nominated just one day ago.) But to my surprise--- ONE day is all we needed to see the love and support for Laurel Creek Manor!!

Yet another elegant wedding this summer- Heather and Ryan!

Thanks to Christy Pelland of C.Pelland Photography we have some more outstanding photos to show you of Laurel Creek Manor in action. This couple was so sweet- Heather was one of the most elegant bride's of 2008! Just see for yourself how great this wedding was!

The photos in the Bride's Changing room never cease to amaze me- the cathedral window is the most beautiful backdrop for a bride and her dress!

One of my favorite moments of the wedding day is the "first look" ~ Heather and Ryan chose to see eachother for the first time on the front porch, what a cute couple!

Christy is always finding new places to take a great photo- and this is one spot you cant miss! This arch along with the beautiful front gate, pillars, and front porch is one of the first things your guests will see when they arrive at Laurel Creek Manor.

We just attended one of my favorite Parties of the year... the Seattle Bride "Best of" awards! This year we brought our favorite photographer Christy Pelland as our guest and mingled the night away with the rest of the wedding industry!

This year's awards were held at the lovely Lake Union Cafe. It was a fun night with hor d'ouvres, and their specialty drink of the evening was the BOB-Tail (Best -Of_Bride) a yummy plum flavored cocktail!

Most people dream of a perfect wedding- sunny warm weather, flowers blooming, birds chirping, fun and dancing into the night, a magical day. For many, this perfect wedding happens in July or August- but this year we are predicting that our most beautiful weddings happened this last Month of May!

The weather has been up and down, but every single wedding the skies were clear, the weather was in the 70's and all of the flowers at Laurel Creek Manor were in full bloom!

::My Favorite Business Meeting::

Last week I had the most interesting business meeting yet. Long time friend and one of Laurel Creek's favorite Photographers Christy Pelland came by for a very important business meeting. OK- so the only thing "business" about it was a short discussion on the wedding industry and some help with her marketing strategy.

What is most interesting about this meeting is that it was more of a "family reunion" for the smaller members of our families. THE DOGS! Mini Cabodi, the official Laurel Creek Manor pup, just happens to be the sister of Tony and Dozer Pelland. Also at this meeting was my dog Roscoe- Mini's best friend, and little Reese, christy's daughter. The three Boston's- Mini, Tony, and Dozer had a blast running around the yard, playing with Roscoe and occasionally visiting us and Reese. The final member of the meeting was Chloe- my cat. she made sure to watch every move the dogs made, as well as scare Reese and climb straight up the screen on the window.

Needless to say it was an interesting, and really fun meeting!

Dozer, Mini, and Tony... they were more interested in our lunch than their play time!

Reese's fake out- pretending to come inside, then closing the door and taking off outside!

"ahhh! this is the best time of my life!"

Thanks Christy for bringing over lunch and wine, and for such a fun visit! Mini and I cant wait for our "Puppy Pool Party" this summer!

Thank you to Mr. Meyerhoff's Photo II class for taking the time for a photo shoot at Laurel Creek Manor! As a graduate of Emerald Ridge High School it was a pleasure to have one of my favorite teachers, Mr. Meyerhoff bring his class in to visit! I am excited to see the results from his group of advanced photography students. .

We had the pleasure of attending the South Hill Mall Bridal Fair on Saturday 2/23 ! On Sunday we were invited downtown Puyallup to a great shop called Baskets & Things for the Wedding Walk!
